AFF 2025 Dance Band Application

All musicians are welcome to apply for a set on the Alaska Folk Festival dance band stage.

The festival does not pay performers. Please confirm that you are submitting an application to volunteer for an unpaid performance.

We expect a record number of applications for AFF 50. It will not be possible to offer a time slot to every applicant. We thank you for your understanding and support.

DEADLINE: February 28, 2025

The 50th Annual Alaska Folk Festival is scheduled for April 7-13, 2025, at Centennial Hall in Juneau. Dance sets will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (April 10-12) at the JACC, adjacent to Centennial Hall. Dance sets run about 50 minutes. Dances are scheduled according to space and availability. Applicants are not guaranteed a set on the dance stage.

Completed applications must be received NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025. The tentative schedule will be sent to all applicants no later than March 7, 2025. This schedule will be your confirmation of a performance spot.

Release Authorization

I hereby authorize the live broadcast of my/our performance at the 50th Annual Alaska Folk Festival over KRNN-FM during the week of April 7-13, 2025. I also authorize the use of my/our performance, both live and recorded, for distribution to the public over non-commercial radio stations and over the internet.

I understand that KRNN-FM and the Alaska Folk Festival will not be able to provide monetary compensation for my/our performance, and that Alaska Folk Festival Inc. will not be held liable for lost gear or other personal belongings.

The release is required to submit a performer application.

Festival Volunteers Needed

Will you volunteer a few hours this year? Volunteering is fun, easy, and teaches you how the festival works. Choosing to volunteer will not have a bearing on your Performers Application, but volunteers are essential to the success of every festival.
